Peyman Erginel
Founder of the firm and one of the most renowned and respected lawyers in North Cyprus, she has been dealing with property issues and conveyancing since 1975.
Peyman has also, successfully, represented major banks such as T.C. Ziraat Bankasi, the leading bank of Turkey and Kıbrıs Vakıflar Bankasi of North Cyprus. She has also acted for international companies such as Levi Strauss and Nike International on copyright matters.
Her husband Taner Erginel, a former Chief Justice of the TRNC, is one of the firm’s legal advisors.
Her son Erdem Erginel (LLM) is a Legal and Policy Officer at the Health and Consumers Directorate General of the Commission of the European Union.
By marriage, Peyman is related to Chief Justice M Zekia, who was the Chief Justice of the Republic of Cyprus. In 1962, he became one of the judges of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. He remained in that position until his death in 1984.

Taner Erginel, Peyman’s husband, is the consultant to the firm. He was the Chief Justice of the TRNC until his retirement in 2006.
After he retired he was appointed as one of the legal advisors to the former President of the TRNC.
He still provides legal advice to prominent figures in the TRNC establishment, as well as being a part-time lecturer of law at Girne American University.

Munir Akil’s legal history commenced when he was called to the Bar in 1972 in the U.K as Head of Chambers and as a Barrister at Law. He has been registered as an advocate in the Republic of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus since 1973 and is currently the only lawyer in North Cyprus entitled to practice law in both the U.K. and the TRNC.

Naomi Mehmet LL.B. (Hons) – Advocate
Naomi was born and grew up in North London. She studied Law at University College London (UCL), graduating in 2001. She then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, passing her exams with distinction. With the aim of expanding her legal knowledge and improving her language skills, Naomi then took up a job working in the legal department of a prestigious offshore trusts company based in Liechtenstein. In 2003, Naomi, moved to Northern Cyprus where she gained employment in a large law firm in Kyrenia. This enabled her to gain invaluable experience of the legal system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (T.R.N.C). Naomi was called to the T.R.N.C bar in 2005. Sila is of Turkish Cypriot origin. She graduated in 2003 with a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Marmara, Turkey, and then went on to complete her Masters degree in Law specialising in Patent Law. Sıla completed her practical training in Istanbul and was called to the Istanbul Bar where she is still a registered member. She then worked for a period of two years with a well known law firm in Istanbul before returning to her native Cyprus and commencing work with a local firm in Kyrenia. In 2005 she was called to the TRNC bar. Sıla joined Naomi Mehmet & Partners in 2008 to head their Litigation and Dispute Resolutions Department. Sıla has extensive experience in all kinds of litigation cases, including banking and debt claims, property related disputes and family matters and she speaks Turkish and English.
Aksana Vitushka LL.B. LL.M. – Legal Adviser
Aksana graduated in 2004 from the Belarusian State Economic University with a degree in Law, obtaining the highest grades in all of her examinations. She worked for some time as a junior lawyer with the firm of Jurist Consult in Minsk, Belarus. She then completed her internship at the High Court of Minsk, Belarus before spending some time working as a Research Assistant at the Ministry of Justice in Belarus. Finally, she went on to complete her Masters degree in law (LL.M.) at the Girne American University in Cyprus graduating in 2007. Aksana provides legal advice and assistance in property related matters. Aksana is fluent in Russian, Belorussian, English and Turkish.
