Liverpool football legends visit North Cyprus
The Liverpool legends visit to North Cyprus was welcomed with open arms to all who live and visit the TRNC.
A press conference was held at the Grand Rocks Hotel before providing some top class entertainment on the night at Girne’s 20 temmuz stadium on the 5th August, the Liverpool legends played a ground breaking- masters match against TRNC X1, part of a truly remarkable year for North Cyprus.
The Liverpool Legends included a host of past masters of the game and showed they still had the class and touch to entertain the fans at the stadium.
Included in the line up for the legends were Phil Neal, David Fairclough, David Johnson, Ronnie Whelan, Alan Kennedy, Mark Wright, Howard Gayle, Phil Babb and Michael Thomas who played at the top of their game when the Anfield boys ruled England and Europe.
A great evening was had by all inside the stadium with the legends signing autographs and handing out certificates to the youngsters who took part in the training camp. It will be a day the TRNC won’t forget and shows just how far the TRNC has come this year to attract such line up of superstars to visit North Cyprus, giving the fans and locals the chance to watch a super game and meet these great players who once had Europe at their feet.
You could see by the faces of the fans, locals and the youngsters in the stadium that they were not disappointed with the show and thoroughly enjoyed the evening’s entertainment with a very close game that was eventually won 2-0 by the Liverpool Legends.
2011 has so far been a great year for the TRNC, with a host of other top class entertainers visiting the Island this summer. But it is not over yet so keep your eyes peeled on North Cove Estates news for other star attractions the TRNC will host before the summer is out.
