This year there are more world renowned entertainment acts in the TRNC than ever before. The star studded list includes Ali Campbell, Kelis, Shaggy (for the second time), UB40, George Benson and Randy Crawford to name just a few. On top of this there have been some huge events like the Mid-summer Ball at Club Locca near Escape beach attracting top DJ’s  and dance acts like Crazy Cousinz, Artful Dodger, DJ Luck & MC Neat.

We are still only in August and there are many top acts still to come this summer including, rumour has it, the Grammy Award winning, Queen of Latin... “Shakira”. The Columbian temptress is lined up to play at the prestigious Savoy Hotel in the centre of Girne later this year, although I expect tickets for this one are not going to be cheap.

UB40’s date is set for Friday August 19^th when they take to the stage in front of hundreds of fans at the Girne amphitheatre. After the success of ex-UB40 lead singer Ali Campbell’s live show at the Escape Beach club, the night in Girne with the whole band is something we are all looking forward too!

Add to this the usual array of local talent that take to the stages of the TRNC throughout the summer months, and you can see why North Cyprus is fast becoming a very popular destination for those looking to have some fun in the sun.
